History
SchuF was established in 1911 by Josef Frank and Ludwig Schwärzel in Frankfurt, Germany.
- The patent for the original Lift Plug Valve was received in 1914.

- Patents for Ram Piston Bottom Outlet Valve and Disc Raising or Lowering Bottom Outlet Valves were received in the period between 1923 and 1926
- SchuF specialised in process control valves and gained significant success in the Petrochemical, Refining, Plastics & Polymer, Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries in the post war period
- SchuF expanded both it’s sales offices and manufacturing plants abroad, first in Europe, followed by the USA, South America and Asia over the next 20 years
- SchuF Ireland was established in 1991 enabling SchuF to double production and design capacity
- SchuF Specialty Valves India was established in 2000, bringing SchuF closer to the Asian market
- The leading US polymer valve specialist “Fetterolf” joined the SchuF Group in 2004
- Fetterolf SchuF of Brazil was formed in 2005 in a merger between Fetterolf do Brazil and SchuF do Brazil.
- In the same year SchuF China Valves Ltd. was established.
- The most recent expansions were established in 2010. SchuF built up a new production site in the UK (SchuF UK) as well as a new sales office in Singapore (SchuF South East Asia)
- Today SchuF employs 360 people (of which more than 50 are engineers) on five continents, serves customers in 50 countries and provides the most reliable special process control valves available.
