SchuF chairman retires
SchuF Fetterolf chairman, Mr. Wolfgang Frank announces his retirement.
Mr. Wolfgang Frank, Group Chairman, Managing Director, and joint owner of the SchuF Fetterolf Group announced today that he will be retiring. In his 38 years with SchuF, Wolfgang Frank has been instrumental in building the SchuF business outside of Germany and in extending the Group’s reach into new industries. He established both SchuF in the United Kingdom and the United States living and working there for fourteen and fifteen years respectively as well as travelling tirelessly to meet customers on every continent. During the past nine years he has led SchuF in Ireland, an important design, production and sales centre. Wolfgang commented:
‘ I would like to express my thanks to all of our employees across the Group and all of our customers across the globe. I can start my retirement in the confident knowledge that our customers will be well cared for and that SchuF will continue to prosper.’
His energy, determination and creative approach to customer challenges has led to the rapid expansion of the Group in many industries. These include the chemical, pharmaceutical, polymer & plastics and food industries. He is widely respected in the pharmaceutical industry, for introducing several industry specific refinements and as the inventor of the ram valve with automatic crust breaking and sampling. He pioneered the Groups entry into the PTA and polymer industries in which SchuF today has a leading worldwide market position. Dr. Martin Frank (SchuF Fetterolf Group CEO and Wolfgang’s younger brother) commented:
‘Wolfgang’s contribution to the Group is immense. He led us through periods of expansion and recession, established new markets, developed new products and has won the hearts and minds of customers, representatives and employees in every corner of the world. Life in SchuF will be a little bit less fun without ‘Big Brother’ by my side.’
Wolfgang’s responsibilities will be taken over by his son Nicolas Frank who commented:
‘We do not expect Wolfgang’s retirement to be a quiet affair – it will give him the necessary time to pursue his passion for breeding and riding champion dressage horses and spending more time with his family. I am sure that family will include some of the customers that he has worked with over the past 40 years’
Wolfgang Frank will remain Chairman of the SchuF Fetterolf Group.
